Binissalem is a wine tour without leaving the village which is the centre of the Denomination of Origin of the region and has two large fiestas each year in May and September. The fiesta Pedra i Vi in May when the local stonemasons Pedra display their work in the main plaza and the Vi the wine from all the local producers is available for tasting on the Saturday at the end of the week’s festivities.
In September to two final weeks of the month are devoted to the Festa des Vermar with the final Friday evening the village hosting the Sopar a la Fresca, when the village streets are filled with tables for supper to celebrate the end of the grape picking. On any ordinary day the bodegas in the village are opening for tasting popular on a Friday morning when the village market is held in the central plaza.
